The Division provides opportunities for individuals to choose a lifestyle which preserves individuality, dignity, autonomy, and self-determination consistent with their wants and needs. We assure the safety and well-being of elderly and disabled people by:

• 1. Enforcing federal and state statutes and regulations
• 2. Investigation of alleged abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

This is achieved by a system of licensing and protective services which includes education, assistance, prevention, sanctions, empowerment and promotion of positive change in a respectful manner.
