Area Agencies on Aging Areas Agencies on Aging provide professional case managers to help people age 60 and older assess their situation, explore available options, obtain community services and benefits, and protect their rights.
Benefits Counselors Information on how employment income will affect health and cash benefits programs such as SSI and SSDI. 
Food Benefits The Food Benefits Program helps people pay for groceries. 
Seasonal Fuel Assistance The Office of Home Heating Fuel Assistance provides grants for Fuel Assistance for people through the Supplemental Fuel Assistance Program.  Income guidelines must be met.  The crisis Fuel Program provides emergency assistance for heating crises during winter months.
General Assistance Emergency funds through the Department of PATH, on a case-by-case basis for someone with no financial resources.  General Assistance covers basic needs such as housing and medical needs.  OR General Assistance provides emergency funds for people with no financial resources to cover basic needs such as housing and medical needs.
Job Training Programs at Vocational Rehabilitation Assistance with classroom, on-the-job, and supported employment opportunities.
Link-Up The Link-Up Program provides help paying for new telephone installations, or link-up if you live in subsidized housing.  Income guidelines apply.
Long Term Care Insurance Long Term Care Insurance is specialized insurance to cover long-term care needs.  This includes long-term care at home or in a nursing home if you are disabled or have a long-term illness.
Long Term Care Medicaid Health insurance program for low income Vermonters that helps pay for long term care services at home, in the community or in nursing homes. This program also helps pay for other health needs including hospital care, prescription drugs, doctors’ services and other medical services and equipment.
Medicaid Health insurance program for low income Vermonters that helps pay for hospital care, prescription drugs, home health services, doctor’s services and other medical services and equipment.
Renter's Rebate The Vermont State Tax Package includes applications for several programs which assist older Vermonters, such as the Property Tax Rebates, Telephone Lifeline and Vscript.  The Vermont Department of Taxes can be reached at 802-828-2865.  OR You may qualify for a cash rebate if you rent your home or apartment when you file your VT income tax return.
SSI If you are 65 or older, or if you’re blind or disabled, and you also have little or no income or resources that can be turned into cash, you may be able to obtain Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Tax Rebate You may qualify for a cash rebate on your property tax when you file your VT income tax return.
Telephone Lifeline Telephone Lifeline offers a credit on your monthly telephone service charge.  Income guidelines apply.
